Did you know that Juniata guarantees that students will graduate in four years, or the extra courses needed are free? Or, that 95% of Juniata’s pre-med students gained admission to medical school consistently in the last 6 years. Did you know that Juniata students participate in undergraduate research opportunities at Vanderbilt, Harvard, and Berkeley, among other top schools where Juniata alumni teach? Juniata College, located in the small town of Huntingdon, is set on an 110-acre campus, located mid-way between Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia.

International students make up 10% of Juniata’s enrollment, with a large majority from Asia. Today, Juniata attracts students from over 34 countries (India included) and has established 41 exchange programs in 19 countries. U.S. News & World Report recently recognized Juniata as one of the top 10 ‘Up and Coming’ liberal arts colleges - I disagree! I would say that Dr.Troha’s (College President) Juniata has already arrived - recognized among 40 institutions by Loren Pope (former New York Times education editor) as a college that changes lives.

Juniata has a great reputation for the high level of academic engagement happening daily, personal attention, a flexible curriculum and encouraging students to think and act for themselves. The campus motto is “think about who you are”. Juniata runs on a dual advisor system, meaning that all students from their second semester onward have both an academic and a general advisor. The academic advisor is from the student’s academic department, while the general advisor is a professor or faculty member from another department.

Juniata’s standout feature has to be their POE or Program of Emphasis, which allows students to design their own major with the assistance of two professors. POE is flexible, adaptable and self-designed. It is not housed in a particular academic area. Juniata offers 3+2 Engineering Programs in partnership with colleges like Columbia University, and Washington U. St Louis. Your first three years would be completed at Juniata and your last two years would be at one of partner colleges where you earn your Engineering degree. Juniata’s Data Science and Business programs are strong and the interest in the Entrepreneurship program is growing.

Juniata has a superb Internship Fund gifted by their alumni for the benefit of sophomore and junior year students. Over 80% of Juniata’s students now regularly engage in internships. Additionally, students are also being encouraged to begin research as early as freshman year towards building their resumes for employment or graduate school.

Between 2017 - 2020, 10+ Next Genius scholars have enrolled at Juniata College and have reported that there is a growing and strong Indian student cohort on campus. Today, Juniata alumni are working at top U.S. companies such as Price Waterhouse Cooper, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, Microsoft, Merck, John Deere, Department of Defence, and Google to name a few. They are also attending the top graduate schools such as MIT, Stanford, and Harvard.
